2017 French Open Bracket Predictions + Analysis

Roland Garros is upon us after an amazing clay court season. Roger Federer is the only player in the top 50 not to participate, so we are sure to see an extremely competitive French Open. Nadal is currently the frontrunner in the Race to London with Fed trailing just behind, but Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, and David Goffin (3-5 in the rankings for this year respectively) all can make a run and jeopardize the king of clay’s number one spot.

Really anyone can beat each other so this grand slam will be filled with upsets and surprises. This year we will witness a special French Open, one like no other.

My bracket, in particular, is absolutely crazy most would say because of the multitude of upsets I have tried to predict. In the semifinals, I have Richard Gasquet vs. Pablo Cuevas and Dominic Thiem vs. Rafael Nadal. If this absurd prediction is correct, I believe that Nadal would then go on to win his 10th French Open title defeating Pablo Cuevas. I know my bracket will be a complete mess most likely, but at least I attempted to make sense of an unpredictable year.

Below are my predictions for all eight octants.
